Case Study – Pipespools lined with protective coating against estuarine cooling water

Corroserve’s engineering skills and advanced protective coating systems provide unrivalled levels of corrosion protection in the harshest environments. As such Corroserve was asked to recommend suitable preparation and ongoing protection for a large number of pipespools due to enter service at a major UK power plant. Long Lasting Protection After abrasive blasting to Sa2½, to provide the required surface profile, the internals were coated with Corroglass 600 series which was spray applied to achieve a dft of 750µm rising to 1500µm in areas of increased wear.

Corroglass 600 provides protection against corrosion in immersed and non-immersed locations and is resistant to acids, solvents and demineralised water. Plasmet ZF, a surface tolerant coating, was used a primer on the externals and a top coat of Corrothane AP1 completed the corrosion protection coating. Corroserve combines mechanical engineering skills with advanced coatings systems to offer a one stop shop when refurbishment and corrosion protection of valuable assets is required.
