Corroserve was consulted on the corrosion protection of a Siltbuster tank to be operated in testing service conditions. The tank would be in danger of suffering corrosion as the internal surfaces would be constantly submerged as the unit provides an effective separation tank for suspended particulates from water.
Corroserve arranged for the unit to be transported to its Leeds workshop where it was abrasive blasted before the application of wetted out fibreglass matting to the internal joints of the unit to provide increased structural strength to the Siltbuster.
Corroserve then applied Corrocoat’s Polyglass VEF coating by airless spray. Polyglass VEF is suitable for immersed conditions across the PH range and offers excellent resistance to chemicals and acids so was the ideal choice of coating for a demanding service environment.
Finally the externals were coated with Plasmet ZF, a surface tolerant coating, and a final coat of Corrothane AP1 before transportation back to the operator.
